When the Covid pandemic hit, I debated whether to breed Lily or not due to fact that all vets went into shutdown but decided to do it. And we were able to manage it all with the support of our fabulous vet community in Pennsylvania. Ria was ms Lime girl. The choice was not easy because the litter of 7 (6 girls and 1 boy) was so strong and consistent. But my eyes kept on coming back to this beautiful, powerful and elegant girl. In fact baby Ria reminded me so much of her mother Lily as a baby.
Ria was therefore our Covid puppy, being raised without any ability to participate in puppy or handling class or shows due to the shutdown. Therefore we worked even harder at trying to find ways to do something. Ria started her show career later than all our dogs have. But that has not stopped her. She won a beautiful major during the National Specialty weekend and finished her championship with several OH group placements end of 2021.
Ria is the very best of both her parents and we have great hopes that she will continue all that we have started with her great grandfather Aramis, in the tawny side of our Fairytale family.
And Ria has confirmed that she is the talented and beautiful Briard in the show ring that we anticipated. She is now a Best in Show Winner under a true herding specialist Mrs Sulie Paveza and also a multiple group winner. We are very proud of our stunning girl.
In 2023, Ria was shown a limited number of weekends and yet, she finishes the year as #1 Briard female all systems, #2 briard in group points, placing 55% of the time she was in the group ring and #3 briard in breed points. |
